Anne Paqueno, APYO Sinfonia Conductor

Conductor, arkansas philharmonic youth orchestra

Mrs. Pequeño, a native of Waterloo, Iowa, is a violinist and orchestra teacher. She recently obtained a Bachelor of Art Degree in Instrumental Music Education with an emphasis in violin, from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. During her time at UNI, Anne had the privilege to be a part of the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dr. Rebecca Burkhardt. As a part of this ensemble, Anne had the opportunity to perform a wide range of repertoire, and shared the stage with a variety of reputable artists, including composers Libby Larsen and Jake Heggie. In addition, she was fortunate to travel to Brazil to participate in a collaborative performance of Mahler's first symphony. Anne also played often with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, and was part of several chamber ensembles.

After moving officially to Northwest Arkansas in May of 2016, Anne began teaching privately at Arkansas MusicWorks. With the participation of the Bentonville Public Schools, Anne completed a sixteen-week internship as the final part of her course study at UNI. While being fully immersed in these classrooms, Anne was delighted to work alongside Mr. Jesse Collet and the orchestras at Bentonville High School, Barker Middle School, and Washington Junior High. Anne plans to join the Bentonville Public School district in the 2017-2018 school year, as their newest orchestra teacher! She has played, several times, with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Steven Byess.
Anne is married to Dave, and enjoys living in Rogers. She loves baking, reading, and playing with her dog!
