An electric collaboration with the future of classical music.

 

On March 27, 2024, as the house lights dimmed in the magnificent Great Hall of Crystal Bridges Museum, we knew we were in for a treat.

Led by conductor Steven Byess, the evening unfolded with performances by the Arkansas Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (APYO), the adult orchestra (APO), and the sensational Saehyun Kim, Cleveland International Piano Competition First Prize Winner.

 

Begining with the Symphonic APYO students' rendition of Mendelssohn and Dvořák, we savored the vibrant Carmen Suite by Bizet, and experienced the awe-inspiring collaboration as Saehyun Kim joined forces with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra for Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3. This convergence of talent, youth, and seasoned musicians, creatied an evening of musical brilliance at Crystal Bridges.
