Er-Gene Kahng

music education lead, arkansas philharmonic youth orchestra

Er-Gene Kahng has been an active member of the Northwest Arkansas musical community since 2007, when she moved from Chicago.  She serves as concertmaster of Arkansas Philharmonic and Fort Smith Symphony, continuing to perform as soloist championing Arkansas composer Florence Price and supporting the cause of inclusivity and representation in music-making.  She serves as Professor of Violin at the University of Arkansas and finds particular joy in coaching chamber groups and leading sectionals. She has received degrees from UCLA, Yale and Northwestern and was a Wolfson Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK. The opportunity to create community, transform lives and share the love of music are some of the many things Er-Gene is excited about exploring as APYO's Music Education Lead.
